About Thomas C. Cofield
For the first 18 years of my practice with Barnes Alford Stork & Johnson in Columbia, I handled mostly insurance defense cases. 22 years ago, when I opened Cofield Law Firm, I shifted to represent plaintiffs. I appreciate the challenges and situations faced by lawyers on each side. I am familiar with the pressures and costs of litigation, and I am mindful of the value of mediating a settlement.
I have been certified as a mediator since 2007. I have mediated an array of personal injury cases (e.g. auto/truck accidents, premises liability), bad faith insurance claims, contractual disputes, products liability, construction, intentional torts, wrongful death/survival actions, defamation, probate battles, and even equine disputes.
I will not charge any time for travel and I will work with you to find resolution and avoid litigation.
